Marcus Kenney (b. 1972) was born and raised in rural Louisiana and lives and works in Savannah, Georgia. Kenney earned an M.F.A. in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He is best known for his masterful assemblages, sculptural and 2-dimensional, but also works with painting and photography.

Kenney has played a significant role in the definition of contemporary southern art through bold and complex work rooted in social, political, and geneological identities.

Kenney has exhibited in museums, institutions, galleries and art fairs internationally, including in Tel Aviv, Paris, London, Montréal, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Miami. His work has been featured in publications such as Burnaway, Art in America, The New York Times, and Art News.
